It’s been over two years since we gathered together to experience the joy that is Rancho Family Fest. We’ve truly missed the music and your smiling faces, and look forward to reconnecting and revitalizing. Together. Again.

Some things will be different this year, so please read all of the information below BEFORE purchasing your tickets so you can make an informed decision. Much remains the same: Great live music, a Taste of Rancho Santa Margarita with our food vendors, business vendors, the Kid Zone, and the Beer & Wine Garden.  Did we mention that The Tijuana Dogs will headline the event on Sunday night, October 10?

Our most important role as the producer of Rancho Family Fest is to provide a safe environment during Rancho Family Fest Weekend, where the overall health and safety of the community remains our top priority. We are implementing the following policies to protect from the spread of COVID-19 and continue to work alongside health and safety experts as well as local and state officials to create a safe festival experience.

We’re capping ticket sales at 10,000 to ensure there’s plenty of room for people to spread out at Rancho Family Fest and roam. Make sure you purchase your tickets in advance!

At the present time, we are NOT requiring attendees of Rancho Family Fest 2021 to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (ie., that you have received your final vaccine dose more than 14 days prior to Rancho Family Fest) or proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of attending Rancho Family Fest.

Masks are encouraged regardless of vaccination status. We recommend that you wear a mask when social distancing isn't possible, following CDPH Guidance for Face Coverings. Complimentary masks will be available on site upon request.

If you want to wear a mask, by all means, wear a mask. We will not tolerate bullying anyone because of their choice (or bullying of any kind), we are all in this together.

If you are eligible to get vaccinated and desire to be vaccinated, by all means, get vaccinated.

We have implemented a cap on ticket sales as a means to limit attendance at Rancho Family Fest 2021, so as to ensure that we will not have a crowd greater than 10,000 attendees.  For an Outdoor Setting such as Rancho Family Fest, a crowd greater than 10,000 attendees would be a “Mega Event” under CDPH Guidelines, and vaccine verification or negative testing proof would be specifically recommended.

Mega Events are considered higher risk for COVID transmission because:

  • Participants and attendees are spending extensive periods of time physically close to large numbers of people they don't usually interact with.
  • The frequency and total duration of close contact between attendees is increased, thereby increasing the risk that respiratory particles will be transmitted between attendees and participants.
  • They draw from beyond the nearby community and will often draw attendees and participants from other communities who may be infected with more infectious COVID variants.
  • Effective contact tracing may be difficult given the number of potential uncontrolled mixing between groups and attendees among individuals who are unlikely to be together again and the nature of the events.

The State of California strongly recommends that guests at “Mega Events” be fully vaccinated or obtain a negative COVID-19 test prior to attending the event.

California’s requirements and recommendations for negative testing / vaccine verification will be in place effective September 20, 2021 through November 1, 2021. The state will assess conditions by October 15, 2021, to determine whether updated requirements or recommendations are needed beyond November 1, 2021.

* Policy is subject to change in the event of changes in requirements established by the City of Rancho Santa Margarita, County of Orange or State of California. Please check often for updates.

We ask that you not attend Rancho Family Fest if any of the following is true for you or anyone in your party:

  • Within 14 days before attending Rancho Family Fest you have tested positive, or been exposed to someone who has tested positive for, COVID-19;
  • Within 48 hours prior to attending Rancho Family Fest, you have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g., a fever of 100.4F or higher, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking muscle pain/achiness, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, nasal congestion, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue or any other symptoms associated with COVID-19 identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention);
  • Within 14 days prior to attending Rancho Family Fest, you have travelled to any international territory identified by federal or applicable state or local governments as being subject to travel or quarantine advisories due to COVID-19.

We encourage everyone to sign up for CA Notify as an added layer of protection for themselves and the community to receive alerts when they have been in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19.

Rancho Family Fest attendees should consider a variety of risks of attending music festivals, including:

  • the risk of attending large, crowded events where the vaccine status of others in attendance may be unknown to the individuals; and
  • the risk of attending large, crowded events for populations that may not currently be eligible for vaccination or may be immunocompromised and whose vaccine protection may be incomplete.

COVID-19 exists in any place where people gather. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By purchasing a ticket, you assume all risks, hazards, and dangers arising from or relating in any way to the risk of contracting COVID-19 or any other communicable disease or illness, or a bacteria, virus or other pathogen capable of causing a communicable disease or illness, whether occurring before, during, or after the event, however caused or contracted, and voluntarily waive all claims and potential claims against the City of Rancho Santa Margarita, SAMLARC and the RSM Chamber of Commerce relating to such risks.

You expressly agree to comply with all Federal, State, and Local laws, ordinance, regulations, and the rules of Rancho Family Fest when attending the event.
